I returned from our family vacation to Washington, D.C. and Baltimore this week, and I’m excited to do something with all of my travel photos. The only problem is finding the time to do it along with the other projects on my to do list. I hope you enjoy these 10 ideas of things to do with your vacation photos and memorabilia. They range from super easy 10 minute projects to several hours. I’ve also included an option on what to do with your Instagram photos since so many people take photos with their phones.
I know scrapbooking can be overwhelming for some people (myself included). I started scrapbooking my photos 18 years ago. I love creating pages and working with my photos almost as much as I love buying all of the fun papers and stickers. I’ve acquired quite the collection of scrapbooking stuff over the years, but since I started blogging I haven’t made the time to work on my photo albums. Many people travel over the summer months and take tons of photos which rarely ever make it past their computer or phone. I’m personally at least six months behind on printing photos. I should probably be researching how to organize all of my digital photos, but that’s not nearly as fun as collecting ideas for travel photos.
You don’t have to be a Scrapbooking Guru to create meaningful photo albums your family will treasure. For details of each project click on the link under each photo.

Vacation Memory Jars from Martha Stewart
If you have young kids at home this would be a quick and fun project to do with them. Put items in a large jar or vase such as shells or rocks found on a nature walk. Throw a few pictures in from your trip and you have a vacation memory jar.

All great ideas but take a minute & think about what happens to them later. Are your kids / grandkids going to want them? Right now, I have the 30+ large photo albums of my parents’ world travel. They no longer have any space to store them but don’t want to get rid of them. They don’t do computers or digital frames. So before you invest all that time & money into making cute / clever scrapbooks, include a plan for what happens to them 30 years from now.
