When was the last time you tried something new? This is my first week of boot camp. It’s not your typical blood, sweat and tears boot camp like on The Biggest Loser. It’s a boot camp for bloggers. Blogging Your Way is run by Holly Becker of Decor8. The first BYW e-course was launched in 2009 and Holly has since taught over 5,000 students online. This isn’t the first time I’ve taken a e-course, but it’s the first one I’ve taken on blogging. The four week boot camp is full of all sorts of helpful tips. Boot camp students are given homework and post assignments on a forum so that we can comment on each others work. Holly also shares podcasts and videos full of inspiration. I took an e-course back in February on creativity called Raining Umbrellas which led me to Holly’s class.
Not everyone can relate to my interest in blogging. It has been a way to make myself accountable to practicing my writing skills and it challenges me creatively. It also gives me the opportunity to share what inspires me and brings me joy. Hopefully in turn it will inspire others. Sometimes it’s the little things in life that bring us the most joy. Holly is an inspiration to me, and I’m thankful that she was inspired to share her knowledge with others. In taking this class I hope to not only sharpen my blogging skills, but to connect and build friendships with fellow bloggers who share my passions.

I’m looking forward to learning and growing as a blogger in class with you. I think one of my main motivations is also to connect with others who share my interests, and to build friendships. Enjoy the class!
