I’m a big believer in vision boards and for one of my Blogging Your Way Boot Camp class assignments I was asked to create a mood board. Our instructor, Holly Becker of decor8 describes mood boards as a grouping of images or things that represent what you imagine your blog to look like. Holly is an interior stylist and I know there are a lot of design people who use this technique to create a vision for a room. It can come in handy when you are trying to decorate a space. I’ve written about vision boards before on a past blog post. A vision board helps you to focus and forces you to sit down and think about what you want. I’m a visual person and will use any excuse there is to find a reason to cut and paste pictures. I have had several things occur in my life that were connected to my vision board, but not necessarily in the exact way I imagined. I have a huge bulletin board in my craft room where I post images of things that I’m attracted to and that inspire me. When I began my mood board I realized many of the images from my bulletin board fit the mood of my blog.
- The colors are similar to the ones I chose.
- The lady with the glasses reminds me to pay attention to details and perhaps see things with new eyes.
- The girl holding the camera represents my love of photography and wanting to learn how to take better photos.
- I enjoy sharing family memories.
- The quote by Curly Girl Designs says, “The world is full of people who will go their whole lives and not actually live one day. She did not intend on being one of them.” It is a reminder to live life to the fullest. I also like it because I picture myself driving a Vespa one day in the Tuscan countryside.
- Two of my biggest mantras though that I have to be reminded of and that I want my readers to know are: Always remember you’re worth it! and Trust the Journey!

Hi Dawn.
I just wrote a comment and lost it so sorry if there are two. I saw your question on the forum and will answer that one there.
I love the women’s glasses. Your mood board is wonderful and so happy to see it is not digital. Thought mine would be the only one as it would take me forever to figure out the graphics.
I noted a question in one of your posts. The answer is a resounding YES to whether or not the world could use another blog on fluff. Personally, I think the world needs all the fluff it can get.
Great site and looking forward to more of your scribblings.
My best to you, Sheryl
