I met Cate Buckley at a Pottery Barn class on entertaining for the holidays a few weeks ago. Cate and her husband Lance opened Buckley’s Wine Market around a year ago. They are located at 8661 W. 135th St. on the southeast corner of 135th & Antioch across from Red Robin. I have passed by their store several times and somehow missed this gem of a place. They offer wine tastings on Thursday evenings and a variety of tastings on Saturdays. At least one Saturday a month is dedicated to her husband’s favorite beers. They post their tastings on their facebook page or you can stop by the store for a calendar. They also sell other spirits such as locally owned Dizzy Three and Clear 10 Vodka. The RumChata is a great cream liqueur for the holidays and can be used for not only cocktails, but in recipes. They even have their own app with hundreds of recipes. Click here to check it out.
Buckley’s offers wine gift baskets ranging in price from $35-$100 dollars. They also carry a variety of theme gift baskets for the non wine drinkers.
Located right next to the wine store is the market side which offers 30 different types of cheeses, condiments, candles made from wine bottles, a unique assortment of wine gift bags and my favorite item, Kitchen Papers placemats and tablecloths. Cate shared with me the various ways she uses them: to display desserts and cheeses, as a traditional place mat or as a menu board. If you are looking for that perfect bottle of wine to give as a gift or for a party then check out Buckley’s Wine Market. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and you get the one on one service that sometimes isn’t available in larger markets. One of my new favorite wines is Apothic Red and it’s very reasonably priced at around $11 a bottle. Buckley’s is giving away a $15 gift card to their store. There are two ways to enter.
1) Like their facebook page and then leave a comment here to say you liked them. This is worth two entries.
2) Leave a comment on what your favorite wine or non alcoholic drink is.
The last day to enter is Tuesday, December 11. If you are an email subscriber you may need to click on the title so it takes you to my site to comment.

I met Cate at a recent Pottery Barn class. Since then I tried one of her recommendations, my new favorite red wine, Apothic Red! I love supporting local family owned businesses! This is a good find if you haven’t gone yet. Buckley’s will become your new go to liquor store!

This summer I was on a Lime-A-Rita kick. I still have one sometimes after a hard day at work.
As for wine, I really like a good Argentine Malbec. I just used my last bottle last night so will go to see them to see what they have!
