An old co-worker and friend of mine used to create Christmas music CD’s every year. That was in the days before Ipods and iTunes came along. It was something I looked forward to every year. I discovered a few new Christmas favorites that I’d never heard before from his compilation of songs.
My friend’s partner Bob Gagne, recently recorded a Christmas song he wrote. It’s a very special song for my friend Cindy not only because Bob wrote the song, but their 11 year old daughter sings back up vocals on it. The song is about the true meaning of Christmas and is beautifully sung by Ron Gutierrez. It’s Christmas Time can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby. I hope you’ll check it out. The song is only 99 cents to download and a portion of the proceeds go to the local non-profit organization Kids TLC. Thanks for sharing It’s Christmas Time with me Cindy. The following are a few of my favorite Christmas songs.
- God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman – the Barenaked Ladies version with Sarah McLachlan
- Celebrate Me Home- Kenny Loggins
- O Holy Night– by just about anyone, but you can’t go wrong with Josh Groban
- The Gift-by Jim Brickman
- Last Christmas-George Michael (I have fond memories of my daughter singing this song when she was 4 years old)
- Favorite CD-Carpenter’s Christmas Portrait
- Instrumental CD- Vince Guaraldi Trio- A Charlie Brown Christmas

Love the Kenny Loggins Celebrate Me Home! One of Kelsie’s favorites when she was little is the George Michaels Last Christmas. I love Christmas Eve at church and the Gloria song…not sure the actual title.

I can totally picture Kelsie singing Last Christmas as well 🙂

I love Bob’s song, it is very pretty! My favorite pop Christmas song is Mariah Carey’s, All I Want For Christmas is You. I also love Joy to the World and O Come All Ye Faithful, no matter that I hear them every Christmas eve at church they still always bring tears to my eyes because they are so beautiful.

Thanks for your post about Bob’s Christmas song! Our hope is that everyone loves it as much as we do. Ron Gutierrez does a beautiful job bringing the song to life.
I love Amy Grant’s Christmas CD. She has a lot of beautiful Christmas favorites on there and it always gets me in the Christmas spirit.
I will say, however (on a different note), that the spin instructors at Lifetime Fitness have been playing Christmas tunes and it’s not my favorite, trying to get into spin, while listening to all of these Christmas favorites – LOL!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I would have to agree. I wouldn’t want to spin to Christmas music.
