Treat bags make me smile. I didn’t always feel that way about them though. As a mother I got tired of coming up with clever treat bags for my kids birthday parties. In turn, they would receive treat bags filled with all sorts of junkie trinkets that would eventually find their way to the trash can. However, depending up on the tastes and age of the recipient not all treat bags contain junk. I assembled some midnight snack treat bags for a little New Years Eve party with friends. This idea was inspired by a midnight snack cookie bag I saw on the website tip junkie. I filled my bag with assorted Dove chocolates, Lindt Lindor truffles (which are a family favorite), Ghirardelli chocolate and butter mints wrapped in dollar print packaging from Party City. I found the clock image on the internet and copied and re-sized it to make gift tags. I then typed out midnight snack and cut and pasted it onto the tag and now you have a little bag of chocolate goodness to start your year.
As the year comes to a close, I hope you found many things to smile about in 2012. The end of the year is a great time to reflect on all of the blessings in life. Unfortunately there aren’t only blessings, but hardships as well. Hopefully if you count them the blessings outweigh the hardships. There are a lot of people that lost loved ones way too soon this year. It may seem difficult to find the blessings, but they are there. There may also be mistakes and things you would have done differently in 2012. You can learn from them and use those lessons to make better choices moving forward. I like to take time to reflect on the past year, but if I’m not careful I can get stuck there. I hope you use the wisdom from the past and your hopes and dreams for the future to make 2013 your best.
