Happy Monday! Cookie Monster is my favorite Sesame Street character because I too love cookies. I found this image on pinterest and it makes me smile because eating something sweet is precisely how I react to unpleasant situations. Also, as much as I tell myself to live in the moment, the past and the future keep hounding me. What is your vice during unpleasant times?

This is so cute – both the picture and the quote! Chocolates was what I used to eat when I’m feeling down or stressed but health and wellness are some things I’m working on this year, so I’m cutting down on the sugars. If I do eat chocolates, it will be the ‘healthier’ dark ones, which I do like anyway 🙂
I also try to find more positive ways of coping – such as feeding my mind with positive messages. For example, I started listening to audios while I drive my son to school in the morning. That puts me in a positive mental state for the rest of the day. But sometimes I do get frustrated as the day unfolds but I feel good about starting the day on a right footing 🙂 As an alternative, I know some people watch TED first thing in the morning 🙂

Hi Ruth, Thanks for commenting. I love chocolate as well, especially dark chocolate caramels. I’ve eaten a few too many lately, so I’m trying to work on healthier alternatives as well. I journal every morning and read inspirational things to keep a positive focus which can be hard sometimes. That is too funy that some people watch TED. Whatever tickles your fancy I guess.
