One of my homework assignments for my Blog Class taught by Holly Becker of decor8 is to list blogs that I love. This was a tough assignment because there are so many great blogs that inspire me. If I’m not careful, I can get intimidated by all of the creativity and artistic geniuses in this world. I’m a very visual person and love a clean look and beautiful photos. They are usually the first things that grab my attention. One of my goals is to improve my photography and editing skills for my own blog. In creating my list of blogs, I found it’s not only photos that keep me wanting to come back and visit, but it’s the personality of the blog. I tend to gravitate to blogs that share a little bit about their everyday life and feel very personal. This is a partial list. There are many different categories of blogs that I love so I’ll try to share those in future posts.
A Beautiful Mess– I love sisters Elsie and Emma’s blog about creating a beautiful life. Their photos are fun and whimsical and their blog has an upbeat feel to it. They’re the young, funky, creative friends I can visit virtually every day. They offer craft ideas, decorating tips, recipes and great photo and blogging tips. All of the things I love. They also live in Missouri which is only a few hours from me so I’d love to stop by their shop some day.
Iowa Girl Eats– I love food and collecting recipes, but don’t really like to cook. If I share a recipe on my site, I assure you it will be easy. Kristin not only shares recipes, but personal snippets of her life. Her food photography is beautiful and her site is easy to navigate. I love her Friday Favorites column which inspired me to start my Simple Joys column on Fridays. Click here for her green monster smoothie recipe which I love.
Is This Really My Life– I love Emily’s fun banner and the clean look of her blog. Her blog layout was inspiring to me when I set out to create my own. I enjoy her sense of humor and honesty. She’s witty with a touch of sarcasm which I love.
Thistlewood Farms– I just recently came across this blog by KariAnne. She went from the big city to country living. Her photography is beautiful. She shares a lot of entertaining and home decor ideas and just seems like a really sweet person. I’d love to visit her and just sit on the front porch and drink some sweet tea.
Fat Mum Slim– Chantelle is the author of this blog and lives in Australia. I love her writing style and the clean and vibrant colors of her blog. She shares a lot of blogging and photo tips with her readers. She seems like a very sweet and genuine person and I appreciate her honesty.
Kelly Rae Roberts– I’ve written about Kelly Rae before here. She is an author, artist and possibilitarian. I love her philosophies on life and the message of her artwork. She not only shares her latest creations, but personal insights into her life. I also love the fun and whimsical layout of her blog.
Likes to Smile– Stacey is a fellow classmate from Blog Boss and recently started her blog. We share a lot of similar interests and I of course love the name of her blog. I enjoy her writing style and enjoy seeing the things that she shares on her blog.
Adri’s World– Adri shares snippets of living in NYC, inspirations, food and wellness. I love her photography and collages. She is also a fellow Blog Boss classmate and her blog is fairly new, but I’m looking forward to reading about what inspires her and city living.
Reading blogs can be addictive. If I’m not careful I can spend more time reading other blogs than working on my own. I’ve also found that bloggers are a great community of people, and most bloggers want to support each other in their creative endeavors. I’m so grateful for people like Holly Becker who share their knowledge with others and are confident that there’s a place for all of us on this world wide web.
Bloglovin is a website which I’m on as well a lot of the blogs I’ve listed. You can also follow me from their site.
