I absolutely love this idea from the lifestyle and entertaining blog Sugar & Charm. Eden shows how she made these gorgeous eggs using gold leaf paper here. She shares her heart, bunny and world design. The possibilities are endless. I’ve never worked with gold leaf before, but I definitely want to try it now. However, I think I would have a hard time eating such beautiful eggs. I’m guessing this would be more of an adult project. Why should the kids be the only ones having fun this Easter?
We will be using the traditional PAAS Easter Egg Dye this year, but if you’re feeling adventurous let me know how your golden eggs turn out. I’ve got this saved for next Easter. My daughter will probably be able to do this project. She actually has better fine motor skills and more patience with crafts than I do. I have fond memories of coloring eggs every year as a kid. Back then we just wrote our names or a design in crayon and then dipped it in a cup full of PAAS dye and vinegar. If we were really feeling brave we mixed colors. There are all sorts of new and fun techniques you can use to color Easter Eggs. Feel free to check out my Spring ideas and Easter and Spring group boards on pinterest for more inspiration.

I’ve used imitation gold leaf and it is tricky business. I use the wax paper that comes in between the sheets to manipulate it. Do not touch! And with imitation, make sure you seal or it will tarnish. Have fun!

Good to know Julie. If it’s tricky business for you then I’m in trouble. Have a Happy Easter!
