I’ve finally put away my winter decorations and pulled out my Easter bunnies for Spring. My home is primarily decorated in warm tones so for years I’ve found it difficult to decorate around the whole spring color scheme. These days I pretty much just put out the few bunnies I own. One of them is from my childhood which my Mom painted in the 70’s. After jewelry making, she went through a ceramics phase. My mother has always been very crafty. Can you guess which one he is?
Years ago I found some neutral decorative eggs at Steinmart that I like to display in a glass jar with some moss. I’m able to use the eggs on both my sunroom and dining room table.
I’m currently loving burlap. A roll of thick burlap ribbon goes a long way. I purchased mine at Olathe Glass, but I believe Hobby Lobby also sells it. I used it on my mantle for Easter and also on a sofa table. I’ve been recycling it each season.
Another trick I love which a friend shared with me is covering books with brown kraft paper. I have an infinite supply of books and they come in handy when I need to elevate objects. You can see in my photos where I’ve used books. Covering them with paper gives them a clean and uniform look and then I just wrap a textured or burlap ribbon down the center of them. You could use any type of wrapping paper and it would be a great way to add a pop of color in your home. I just happen to be into the neutral tones right now.
Is there a simple craft item you use to give your home a more spring like feel? If so, please share in the comments.
