I’ve put together a few links to sites that I thought would be helpful for those of you who are traveling over Spring Break. Even if you aren’t traveling, I’m sure one day you may be boarding a plane or traveling across the country by car. I’ve not personally used all of these apps, but I think there are some which will come in handy down the road. The first is a list of 20 of the Best IPhone Travel Apps according to National Geographic Adventure. One of my many dream jobs was to be a photographer for National Geographic. In case you’re wondering, that dream never came to fruition.
Another App which I used on our Spring Break trip to Disney World last year is called Disney Mobile Magic. It gives you the hours each park is open, the day’s events, a guide map, dining guide and wait times for attractions. It was very helpful on our trip, but I don’t plan on using it again for quite awhile. I wrote about our magical experience here. Let’s just say we seem to pick the busiest times of the year to visit the parks.
I don’t know about you, but I find I pack either too much or too little when I travel. Travel and Leisure has a great list of packing tips broken out into categories on their website. If you need help in this area check it out here.
Happy Trails! Bon Voyage! Hasta La Vista!

I’m shocked that Trip It didn’t make National Geographic’s list. It was so helpful for travel, that I’ve started to use it for everything involving tickets. I use the Trip It app every time I travel. It is genius! You email your confirmations to it and it puts together an itinerary. And then all your confirmation numbers are all in one place — airline, car rental, hotel! I couldn’t say enough good things.

Thanks for sharing Stacey! I will check it out. I hadn’t heard of Trip It.

That Disney app was great!
I vacillate between “pack it…you may need it!” and “Keep It Simple”. So, if I’m traveling by car, I pack everything….because I can. By airplane I keep it simple and streamline. To keep my clothes mostly wrinkle free (mostly) I pack them in the plastic from the dry cleaners. I hang each individual thing up in a bag, than fold them over each other in the bag and place them in the suitcase like that! It works really well. (I do this only for those things that are wrinkle prone).
I also cannot survive without a great crossbody bag that has the right pockets and structure to hold everything, that goes from airport to sightseeing. (my cute handbag is in the suitcase and probably has my socks/undergarments and jewelry bag stored inside…wrapped in plastic).

I love your crossbody bag. I just ordered one from a thirty-one party that’s also a backpack. I haven’t received it yet, but I think it will be perfect for travel. I will have to try the packing in plastic tip. I have rolled my clothes before and that helps with wrinkles. You can also fit more in your bag.
