Since we are officially into October, it’s now safe to start talking pumpkins. I love pumpkins and I love pumpkin flavored things. By November my kids are tired of pumpkin. For years I hosted a pumpkin decorating and carving party. When my kids were younger my party was geared more toward the decorating. I pulled out the Elmer’s glue, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, feathers, sharpies, buttons, and just about any item you could stick to a pumpkin. I like the idea of carving pumpkins, but I hate the mess and scooping out all of the goop from the inside. I’m also not very handy when it comes to wielding a knife. However, I have a few friends that are. You can check out my friend’s house he carved into a pumpkin here. Even Martha would be impressed.
I have come across tons of cute ideas for decorating pumpkins that thankfully don’t require carving techniques. I’ve been wanting to make a book page pumpkin since I saw the idea floating around Pinterest last year. The instructions to make one can be found in the link below. Now I have a whole other slew of ideas to add to my list of “want to makes.” I hope you enjoy my picks. If you’d like to pin the collection on Pinterest pin this post (be sure to click on the title). Otherwise go to each individual pumpkin link to pin the project.

Mine hates to carve pumpkins as well. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, but not so much his. Plus, these last longer 🙂

Thanks for leaving a comment Ulyth. I’m going to finally make the book page one this year, but I love all of them. If you make one you’ll have to share it on your blog 🙂

I’m finally going to make the book page one. Last year I bought the plastic pumpkins to cover, but never got around to make them. I’m determined this year to do it and I’ll post my finished product.

Those are adorable!! I am terrible with pumpkin carving (or anything that requires a knife)…my husband is in charge of that! Those confetti pumpkins are awesome!

I love that there are so many other options now and they last longer when you don’t carve them or if you buy plastic ones.
