I’m excited to announce that Tuesday, October 15 a Taste of Home Cooking School event will be held at John Knox Village, 520 NW Murray Rd. in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. I will be attending the event and have two spots to give away given to me by Taste of Home for two lucky readers. The Taste of Home Cooking School is America’s leading cooking school program. Roughly 300 events are held across the country every year. Culinary Specialist, Guy Klinzing will be demonstrating 10 recipes geared toward the fall and holiday season. The recipes include an assortment of appetizers, entrées and desserts such as: eggs benedict, an appetizer wreath topped with fresh veggies, spinach and cheese stuffed chicken breasts, caramel apple strata and pumpkin cupcakes. The recipes are featured in Taste of Home Magazine and all attendees will receive the magazine in a goodie bag.
Culinary Specialist, Guy Klinzing has worked in the snack food and chocolate industry for over 30 years. He can be seen on the History Channel’s popular series “Modern Marvels” as well as on the Food Network’s series “Unwrapped” with Mark Summers talking about his favorite subject…CHOCOLATE. I like him already! I also happen to be a huge fan of chocolate. Guy has conducted Taste of Home Cooking Schools in 23 states for more than 90,000 enthusiastic Taste of Home fans.
I love attending cooking demonstrations. I think you’ll enjoy seeing what Guy has in store for us as well as learning new tips and techniques. Each ticket holder will receive a Cargo Largo Tote Bag filled with great products, coupons and a FREE digital subscription offer for one of three magazines, plus a chance to win fabulous door prizes! To be entered into the drawing please leave me a comment below on what you favorite comfort food is. Two winners will be drawn at random on Thursday, October 10 and I will email you the details. If you don’t live in the Kansas City area you can click on Taste of Home Cooking Schools to see if an event is taking place in your city. There will also be two shows in St. Joseph, Missouri in November. If you don’t win this raffle, but would still like to attend go to this link for ticket information. The doors open at 4:00 p.m. and there will be vendor booths from area merchants to peruse before the show. VIP ticket holders will have the opportunity to meet Guy during a Meet & Greet starting at 6:00. The show starts at 7:00 and seating is on a first come first serve basis. VIP ticket holders will sit in the first three rows.

My favorite comfort food this time of year would be a bowl of potato soup and warm yummy bread. I enjoy going to cooking classes. I have not been to a cooking class in a couple of years . You always get good recipes from the classes and my favorite part is trying everything that was made in class.

Wow, so many comfort foods come to mind! A warm bowl of soup, a creamy mac-n-cheese, a great pasta but, I think for my first place choice would be a comfort casserole. There are so many great dinners that bring family together in one dish…..such as a Chicken Tetrazzini, a great Mexican casserole, Lasagna or Shepherds pie. Yum

Oh my… what a delicious decision – Hmmmm… think I’m gonna have to go with a big bowl of soup with crusty bread…. or homemade beef stew… or squid ink pasta in a calamari marinara sauce (Yes. I’m totally serious) Now I’m hungry…
