My last post was all about my travels to New York City. What I didn’t include in that post was how I met two of my blog friends Stacey at Likes to Smile and Adri at Adri’s World. They started their blogs around the same time I did and I met them through a blog class taught by the fabulous Holly Becker of Decor8. Up until last weekend we had just communicated through blog comments and emails. It was really great to meet both of these sweet ladies in person. I could have talked for hours. As a matter of fact, I felt like I did and would have loved to hear more about them.
I shared with them a few You Are Beautiful stickers to pass along. I came across a short clip about the stickers on Oprah’s Soul Sunday series. Click the video above to learn more about this simple little sticker created by Artist, Matthew Hoffman and the message it’s spreading around the world. I love simple acts of kindness like this and I knew that my two beautiful friends would love it too. We are all beautiful in our own unique way! I’ve shared a few photos of some places I spread the message around in NYC.

Love the video! I haven’t seen any in Kansas yet we need to get some.

You can help me spread them over town. I’m going to start with the gym bathroom stall 🙂

I love this idea. I heard about it awhile ago, but never knew anyone who actually placed a sticker. How did it make you feel?

That’s a good question. To be honest I took them to NY because it’s not uncommon to find stickers and graffiti in many places. However, I also wanted to share them with my blog friends. It felt a little funny at first putting stickers on things and I tried to be sly about it. After awhile though I felt empowered and it felt good. I’ve been sharing them with friends and I need to find some places around my city where I won’t get fined 🙂 Bathroom stalls are a good one since many places advertise there.
