I have been using the website PicMonkey to edit photos and make collages for about a year now. There are so many fun editing tools you can use that are similar to what’s found in photoshop such as: teeth whitening, blemish fixes, lip tint and weight loss. I just discovered the weight loss while writing this post. I’m definitely going to start using that one. I mainly use a lot of the effects like color boost, exposure correction, cropping, adding text and resizing photos for my blog. There are also tons of different filters you can use on your pictures. I used the Vampire theme and used Dracula Dusk on the photo above. The spider garland is from the Trick or Treat theme. I thought it would be fun to focus on some of the Halloween special effects since many of you may have lots of pictures from yesterday’s trick-or-treating. PicMonkey has so many different photo editing options that I could spend hours just on one photo.
PicMonkey is a free editing program. Some of the special effects cost extra and require you to be a royale member. The royale plan is advertising free and $4.99 a month or $33 for the year. I decided to join the program because I use PicMonkey quite a bit for my blog photos. It’s great for resizing blog photos and creating collages. I purchased Photoshop Elements a few months ago, but I still need to take the time to learn it. PicMonkey is easy to use and great for people who don’t have the time or patience to learn how to use a software program. The only drawback I have found is that you can’t store your pictures on the program. You have to save your pictures to your computer or dropbox. It’s not really a drawback, it’s just that I like to change my mind a lot and re-edit. When I do that I simply upload the picture again.
I’m far from being an expert at using PicMonkey and have yet to play around with many of the special features it offers. Like anything else, the more you use it, the easier it becomes. There are numerous tutorials on how to use PicMonkey available on the internet. I’ve listed some links to help get you started. For all the facebook users out there, there is even a link on how to create a facebook header. If you’d like to follow me on Facebook click here. I often share additional posts and recipes from other bloggers I’m loving on facebook every day.
