Things are going to be busy for me this Memorial Day weekend. My son graduated from high school last weekend and I’m throwing a party for him. In the midst of all the chaos, it’s also my 24th Wedding Anniversary. Since I’m in party planning mode I thought I’d share some ideas to help you celebrate Memorial Weekend.
I shared this roundup of ideas with several bloggers for a Backyard BBQ series titled Lazy Days and BBQ’s. I’ve listed party planning tips and my friends shared table ideas, and recipes to help take some of the stress out of planning a Memorial Day weekend BBQ.
I had the opportunity to meet Jessica of Pen and Paper Flowers at the SNAP conference I attended. She teamed up with several bloggers to share free patriotic printables. Jessica also happens to be party stylist extraordinaire in my book.
If you’re looking for some cocktail options to get your party started check out these past posts.
- Northern Mint Julep
- Moscow Mule– one of my favorite cocktails
- Ke Ke Beach Key Lime Liqueur
I’ll be taking a little blog break until May 28 to enjoy time with my family. While I’m on my break, my blog will be undergoing a redesign. However, it will still be accessible in case you want to catch up on past posts. I’m excited about the new changes and features to my blog, and I hope you enjoy my new look.
I wish you a joyous Memorial Day Weekend filled with love, good memories and reverence for those who fought for our country and are currently serving in the military.

What great timing, right before the holiday weekend! Of course we are going to be tied up with soccer this weekend but there are lots more barbeques coming our way!
