I never tire of the website Pinterest. There is so much to see and do and so little time. It can make you crazy if you let it. Occasionally I will make a project or two, but I prefer to gather ideas for inspiration. The creativity of others inspires me to try new things and sometimes I put my own spin on things like in the case of the graduation wreath I made for my son.
These area a few ideas for summer I came across that I love. I even hope to actually get around to making one or two.
DIY Floating Citronella Candles from Nest of Posies
These look so pretty and would be perfect to set on an outdoor table.
Homemade Sorbet: Without an Ice Cream Machine from A Beautiful Mess
I don’t own an ice cream machine and love this healthier alternative to ice cream.
Kennebunkport Lobster Grilled Cheese from Foodie Crush
I was born in the Northeast and love the local delicacies and the Northeast Coast. I dream of the beach, lobster shacks and carrying my straw bag from one boutique to the next. Then I hear Nellie singing, “It was only just a dream.”
DIY Jute Placemats from City Farmhouse
If you read my blog regularly you know I’m a big fan of Pottery Barn. These place mats remind me of some that they carry. I’ve been wanting them for years, but didn’t want to pay the price. I’m definitely going to have to give these a try.
Fresh Fruit Cake from Pen N’ Paper Flowers
I saw this on my new friend Jessica’s blog and thought it was genius. My daughter has been wanting one of those edible fruit arrangements for years. Now I can make her a fruit cake (one of these days).
I hope some of these ideas inspire you as well. What would you consider trying? Leave me a comment, I love to hear from you from time to time. If you have an idea you’d like to submit to me, you can email me at dawn@joyfulscribblings.com. If you are on Pinterest, I’d love for you to follow me here.
