On my recent trip to New York City I was amazed at how many people were taking pictures with their phones rather than a camera. Actually, the majority of people were using a phone. I also used a phone to capture memories of my trip instead of lugging around my big Cannon T3i. I have a small Cannon Elph which I brought along with me, but because I wanted to share pictures on social media it was just easier to use my phone.
Grimaldi’s Pizza in Brooklyn has some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten, but be prepared to wait in line. However, it’s totally worth the wait.

I had to share this because it’s not something you see every day. It’s the Empire State Building in Rainbow Colors for Gay Pride Week.
I’m pretty happy for the most part with my iPhone photos, but I’ve noticed the pictures are a little grainier if taken inside with low lighting. I’ve enrolled in a class (because I’m a little obsessed with taking creative classes) called The Phone Photography Project through Big Picture Classes. I’ve taken several of Big Picture’s online classes and really enjoy them.
If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook I shared pictures of my trip there as well. A few people I love to follow on Instagram are Gray Malin, Justina Blakeney, and Pen and Paper Flowers.
Summertime Splash by Photographer Gray Malin. This photo is part of his Aqua Glam Series. His photography is fun, beautiful and it makes me smile.
I’m loving this series from Justina Blakeney called Face the Foliage. She creates portraits using all sorts of botanicals.
I love all of the wonderful uplifting quotes Jessica from Pen and Paper Flowers shares on Instagram.
Are you on Instagram and who do you love to follow?

I enjoy taking pictures too but I think the print is grainy too. Our phones are always with us so it makes it so much easier to take pictures. Is the class you are taking helping you the features on your phone??

I starts around July 17. You can still sign up Keri. It’s all on line and it’s all geared toward taking better pictures with your phone. Just click on the link to get their website. It’s highlighted in my post.

Your NY pics are awesome. I would have never guessed that you took those with a phone. I need to work on my phone photography skills for sure!
