The magic of Christmas can be found in many homes this time of year. The magic I’m referring to is the whirlwind of creating and merry-making that many women and a small percentage of men find themselves capable of doing in the mere three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’ve been collecting Christmas ideas over the past few weeks and thought I’d share a few of my favorites. I have a board dedicated to Christmas on Pinterest here.
I will be pulling out my decorations this weekend and found this article on how to organize as you declutter your way through the holidays. Melissa from The Inspired Room always has good advice and I love her decorating style. Decluttering isn’t something I normally associate with the holidays, but I find myself wanting to put out less things each year and decorate with more fresh greens. Hopefully one day I will get to that point.
Last year I decorated my tree with twigs and burlap ribbon in addition to ornaments my family has collected over the years. This year I plan to use some of the items from my Thanksgiving table on my tree. The year before that I used fountain grass from my yard in my tree which you can see here.
If you are like me and still have yet to put your tree up, I found this post helpful from Courtney from A Thoughtful Place and love her four tips for decorating a tree. I also happen to love her decorating style.
I’ve started my Christmas shopping, but have yet to wrap anything. I’m loving these printable gift tags from A Yellow Bliss Road. There are so many free printables available that you no longer need to buy gift tags. You can find information on downloading these printables here. Last year I went with a non-traditional approach and used a lot of feathers on my packages. You can see my ideas here.
There are many years where I think I’m a little too magical and try to do too many things at once. I love the idea of handmade gifts, but many of them take time. This year I fell in love with these marbled clay ring dishes from A Beautiful Mess. I bought the supplies to make them with my daughter and I’m keeping my fingers crossed they turn out as beautiful as the ones pictured. You can find a full tutorial on how to make them here. I’ll be sure to share our results on my Instagram and Facebook pages. Click the links if you’d like to follow me. If you’d like something a little easier to make I shared this easy White Chocolate Snack Mix that makes a nice little gift.
Since I’m on the topic of magical, I had to include this Winter Wonderland Tablescape from Celebrate and Decorate. Chloe creates the most beautiful table settings. I would definitely feel like a guest of honor at her table. You can see more pictures of her table here.
Truth be told, I’m starting to exhaust myself just writing about all the Christmas ideas that can be found on Pinterest so I will end here. Christmas wouldn’t be complete without food and drink ideas, but I will save that post for another week. During all of your creative magic making I hope that you find peace and joy as well and experience the true magic of the Christmas season.

Thanks Michelle! I’m not as prepared as I look. This picture is actually last year’s tree, but I did finally get mine up this weekend and my daughter and I made the ring bowls this past weekend and they turned out great. It’s a great little craft and makes a nice gift. Have a great holiday season and try to make some time to enjoy it 🙂

Sorry I’m late to respond it’s been crazy…tis the season. Love your tree Dawn, can’t wait to see how you incorporate thanksgiving in your tree this year. I pinned the gift tags super cute idea! I also love the craft project so I pinned it too. I was trying to think of a craft for Brie and her cousins to work on and this may be the answer. Let me know how it goes after you and Lauren try it.

The jewelry dishes turned out great Keri and it was an easy project to do. I can give you more details just give me a call.

It’s never to early to start planning for next year, ha,ha. My problem is I forgot where I’ve put things by the time the next Christmas gets here.
