Game nights are a great way to bond with family and friends. We played a lot of games over the Christmas break while my parents were visiting. There were a few games I hadn’t played in a while like Sequence and Mexican Train Dominoes that were fun to revisit. Ever since Christmas I’ve been in a game playing mode. Growing up my family played a lot of board games because we didn’t have cell phones, you tube, hundreds of television channels and on demand movies. I can officially say I’m an adult now because I’m starting to sound like my parents.
Games are a fun way to reconnect and actually spend time with each other conversing. Below are some of my family’s favorite games to play. If you find yourself stuck inside due to bad weather breaking out a game can be a great way to pass the time. I shared other favorite games in a past post HERE. Five Crowns is a fun card game that we play often and I just had to share it again because it is our go to game. I’ve included links where you can read more about and purchase the games. Some can be found at your local stores, but others I’ve only found on online.

I loved playing games, no, I still love playing games! My sister and I find it is a great way to spend time with my Mom and Dad when we visit! Thanks for some great reminders here, I haven’t played Mexican Train Dominos for a long time, yet there they are in the closet! Next time we head out to Mom and Dad’s, I am taking that along!

We are a “game” family. With my husband its usually Scrabble, with my girls its almost always Boggle. For some reason, my husband thinks Boggle is “stressful”… something about the time pressure. I like most games, but I’d always choose a word game over a numbers game:)
