My friend Anne is passionate about wine like I am about desserts. I’ve always enjoyed the many different wines she has shared with me over the years. She has great taste when it comes to wine so I invited her to share some of her favorite white and red wines. I think the saying “you get what you pay for” can be true of some wines, but there are many affordable options which are excellent. I thought this would be a good week for Anne to share some of her selections in case you are looking to purchase a special bottle for Valentine’s Day.
I have been drinking wine for about fifteen years now and have really become passionate about good wines. One of my favorite things to do is share a great bottle with family and friends. I love how even just one glass can really get the conversation going and get the evening or meal off to a great start.
In my experience, wine has a way of conjuring up great memories. A good comparison to help explain this is how a certain song can bring you back to a specific moment or time. A good glass of wine has absolutely the same effect on my brain as a great song. I believe this is why wine has become one of my passions, it has the ability to remind me of fun times in my past.
I compiled a list of some of my favorite wines. The wines I have chosen I consider some of my “go to” wines. This just means if I see them on a menu I know I will be pleased if I order any one of them, by the bottle or just one glass. They are also wines I feel very confident sharing with friends.
Hopefully, you will see one on my list that you’d like to try. I would love for you to share any wine recommendations you have too! I am always eager to taste new wines, and I’m looking forward to making new memories that include wine! After all, it is February, the perfect month to make a sweet memory with the one you love!
Happy wine tasting and memory making!! Anne

Dawn,
What a fun post, and so true how a wine can bring back a memory of a good time. My latest bargain find is call LAB( like the dog), $8-10. It is a screw top, but it scores 88 points. A good easy to drink red wine. My favorite cab is Sebastiani( Alexander Valley). Happy Monday!

Thanks for sharing Kim! I’ve purchased LAB before, I think for Betsy since she has a black lab, but I can’t remember if I’ve tried it.

Ha ha ha I will look for this one. I tried a red called Josh a couple weeks ago that I liked. That one JJ will have to try.

I was thinking I bought you the LAB wine awhile back because the label looks like Gunner. I tried Josh (the wine 😉 and liked it too!

You can’t go wrong the Kendall Jackson chardonnay… always a good bet. Haven’t tried the Toad’s Hollow, but I will. My husband loves Malbec, so I will make a note for future reference. Too bad you don’t live closer so we could taste together:)
