This spring planter which can also be used an Easter table centerpiece took 10 minutes tops for me to put together. It simply requires a clay pot, soil, a narcissus plant, two licorice plants and a little something extra. The little something extra could be a ceramic bird, mushroom, frog, or garden fairy. It’s whatever suits your fancy. I bought all of the necessities at Home Depot and found my little something extras at Hobby Lobby and Target. Technically it takes more than 10 minutes if you count the trip to Home Depot and Target, but I had to make stops there for other things as well.
I took a photo of the tags of the plants so you could see exactly what I purchased at Home Depot. The items added up to less than what I would spend on a bouquet of flowers for my table. The miniature narcissus plant is a perennial which means you can replant it in the ground and it will bloom again next year. I liked the textured of the licorice plant and wanted something that would hang over the sides of my pot. The Home Depot in my area is just starting to fill their garden center with annuals and perennials. You could choose any plant, but these miniature narcissus just scream spring to me.
I was inspired by the Easter centerpiece ideas I shared last week and decided to add an inexpensive hollow chocolate rabbit to my pot. I’m going to use this on my Easter dining table. When Easter is over I’ll just replace the rabbit with the mushroom I found at Hobby Lobby. My table theme is more rustic which is why I decided to go with a simple clay pot. If you have a more elegant tablescape you could do this same arrangement in a mercury glass bowl. The ideas are limitless, just use your imagination. I also spotted a cute flower arrangement at the grocery store where the florist wrapped Easter grass around the outside of the vase. I shared a picture of it on Instagram and Facebook. If you have an Instagram account you can follow me HERE and Facebook HERE.
I was recently reminded by a friend that it’s more important to be focused on WHO is around our table than WHAT is on our table. I can get easily wrapped up in all the little details and food preparations and miss the bigger picture. I hope you all have a blessed and joy filled weekend!

Crazy how early Easter is this year. Time to start thinking about this already! Very cute centerpiece. I like the licorice plant texture as well… it is different. I’m thinking this would make a nice spring birthday gift for one of the girls as well:)
