Everyday life can be full of 12 Hour Adventures. This post is sponsored by Caribou Coffee who helped fuel my 12 Hour Adventure over the weekend. Read to the end of the post for a free Crafted Press beverage offer.
I love the longer light filled days and carefree spirit of summer. I’m more of a night owl than a morning person and rely on coffee to jumpstart my days. Coffee is a simple joy and frankly has become a necessity for me first thing in the morning. My husband and I stopped at Caribou Coffee this past weekend and enjoyed their iced latte and Crafted Press Coffee before a walk at the Overland Park Arboretum.
Caribou Coffee’s new Crafted Press drink takes 12 hours to steep. It’s a combination of coffee, a little bit of cream/milk and some sugar for just the right touch of sweetness. I added a shot of caramel to mine because I’m a big fan of caramel. I’m also the gal who if you give her a coffee she’s going to need a pastry to go with it. The cinnamon coffee cake and cranberry orange scone are delicious.
After we fueled up with our pastries we headed out with our Caribou Coffee and bug spray for a 12 Hour Adventure. Me and my Crafted Press Caribou Coffee enjoyed the sights and sounds of the arboretum. It’s a beautiful place to walk with both paved and mulch trails, gorgeous flowers, waterfalls, and plenty of benches to sit and enjoy nature.
My Caribou Crafted Press Coffee was sort of like the storybook character Flat Stanley who goes on all sorts of adventures. I had fun sharing it with Monet and other statues which are part of a beautiful and shaded sculpture garden. It has been a hot and steamy summer so my coffee was beginning to sweat, but surprisingly stayed nice and cold during our walk.
Even Confucius thinks Caribou’s Crafted Press Coffee is a great idea.
After our walk I decided to spend some time reading a great book which I’ll share more about later. It’s really giving me a lot to think about in terms of how I want to spend my time and learning how to say no. Reading is another simple pleasure of mine and the Caribou Crafted Press I had earlier helped me to stay awake while reading.
Later in the day my daughter and I went back to school shopping. I couldn’t resist this notebook for myself that says Don’t Forget to Play. As the summer winds down I want to remember to carry the sense of relaxation and playfulness into the fall and winter months.

Fun little adventure dawn! One of my simple joys in the summer is sitting on my deck, at the lake, in the morning and watching all the birds.:)
