My daughter asked me the other day when I was going to start cooking again. We are down to three in my home since my son went to college and I just haven’t been in the mood to cook. Not that I’m ever really in the mood. We’ve been doing a lot of grilling, but that will soon come to an end as the temperatures turn colder. This got me thinking about some of my favorite easy fall recipes which are simple and delicious.
My daughter has always been a picky eater, but the last several years she has branched out and enjoys more foods. She has made several requests lately for guava dip and chicken bistro is frequently requested for dinner. She recently requested some other meals I used to make which I unfortunately have no idea what recipes she’s talking about. The joke is if my kids like something then I won’t make it again. Actually the opposite is true. When I make something everyone likes I repeatedly make it to the point they don’t like it anymore. Does anyone else do this?
The change in seasons is SLOWLY getting me in the mood to cook more. Notice there is an emphasis on the word slowly. I need to make some time to sort through my pile of recipes and revisit some old favorites. Below are a few of my favorite fall inspired recipes which I’ve shared in the past. Some of the recipes may be new for some of you or for those readers who have been following my blog since the beginning you may have forgotten about a few. I’ve shared a lot of content over the past four years and it can get buried just like my paper recipes which are filed away.

Oh gosh! Your poor kid! I remember my daughter asking the same thing. I think the answer has been “never”though I have tried. Really. However, today…..I’m going to put in some honest effort to cook more even if I am the only one eating. I do love to cook and autumn is the best time to get back into it! Apple and pumpkin gets me inspired.

You are a great cook Angela. It’s hard when you are only cooking for one or two people because it seems like it’s almost cheaper to eat out sometimes. I agree that autumn is the best time to start cooking again 🙂
