The month of October I’m usually obsessed with anything pumpkin, the colorful leaves of fall, and Halloween. This month many Kansas Citians, including myself have been obsessed with the Kansas City Royals. That is part of the reason why things have been a little quiet around here lately. Forget about orange, red and yellow, it’s been all about royal blue. My month on Instagram has been filled with Royal’s photos, but I’ve still been indulging and sharing in a few fall favorites.
It’s hard to believe the boys in blue have made it to the World Series again this year. This picture is from game two of the World Series. My friend Cindy in the above picture cheered on the Royals to their second win with us. It’s her birthday week and the World Series game was a wish come true. The city is ecstatic and we believe the Kansas City Royals can take the World Series Crown. I’ve shared a few of my favorite photos from past Royal’s post season games and here are a few of my favorite Royal’s players for your personal enjoyment.
The first weekend of every month the Kansas City West Bottoms come alive with antique stores and food trucks galore. There are so many treasures to be found. I thought these jack-o-lanterns made from old gas cans were pretty clever. They can be found at Bella Patina. We didn’t have time to check even half of the stores, but a few of my favorites were Bella Patina, Hickory Dickory and Top Hat.
It wouldn’t be Halloween without candy. My husband gifted me with these Halloween Chocolates from local Chocolatier Christopher Elbow. His chocolates are like works of art and are filled with unique flavors like whiskey pecan and pumpkin spice.
These are just a few of the things I’ve shared on Instagram. What have you been obsessing about this month? Don’t be shy, use the #joyfulinstasmiles hashtag if you’re on Instagram, leave a comment on my Facebook page or on the blog. I too have been obsessed with Royal Blue October! I even painted my nails blue, which I’ve never done before. It’s so much fun to see the community pull together to cheer on the Royals:)
