Do you have a little Picasso at home? I thought I did. When my son was three years old he handed me a picture of an elephant. He drew it on his own while I was working on paperwork. I thought for sure he was going to be the next Picasso. It turns out art wasn’t his passion, agriculture and animal science are his current area of interest. I’ve kept his treasured piece of art scribbled on flimsy white copy paper for years. When I came across Minted’s custom foil-pressed children’s art I knew the elephant drawing would make the perfect masterpiece.
Last year I collaborated with Minted to show you their affordable art collection. You can read about it in this post. I have a few of their prints hanging on my office gallery wall. This year I want to share their Gold Foil-Pressed Collection. Meghan Trainor may be all about that bass, but I’m all about gold foil. Minted offers a variety of custom foil-pressed art, but first I want to show you how quick and easy it is to turn your or your child’s artwork into a custom foil print.
When you go to the Minted website. Click on Minted Art and you will see this screen. Click on the box that says your drawing as a foil art print. You also have other options depending on what type of print you want. Letterpresssed or standard printing in a variety of colors are also options.
This will be the next screen that pops up where you can select the size that you want and whether if you want it framed or unframed. You can also select what color foil you’d like.
You’ll then see this screen. I scanned my photo into my computer and uploaded it from my desktop. You can also take a photo of your artwork if you don’t have a scanner.
Line drawings work best for these types of custom prints and if possible stark black ink on white paper is best. My drawing was in pencil and I just went over with a black felt tip marker. Minted can also combine two children’s artwork into one piece. Once the image is uploaded you can zoom in or out and then edit the text at the bottom to include the title. You also have the option of customizing the font of your artwork’s title.
This is a preview of my custom artwork. I think it sort of resembles a Picasso. After you complete your order, a professional graphic designer will typeset your custom art print and email you a digital proof of your finished custom art print. You are then able to double-check it for accuracy to make sure it’s perfect before they print it. I will be sure to share the finished product in a later post. I can’t wait to add it to one of my gallery walls.
If you still need to order Christmas cards Minted offers a huge collection of options including foil print. Below are some of my favorite foil-pressed gift ideas and of course I picked gold.
This print would be pretty to display during the holidays in a really ornate or simple black frame.
These would make great gifts using your own special photos.
I’m thinking this King Midas Foil Art Print might be my next purchase.
All of these options can be found under foil-pressed art gifts and foil-pressed photo art. Minted has a huge assortment of gifts from art to stationary that make great gifts not just for the holidays, but year round. There’s nothing better than a personalized gift in my opinion. Check their site here for any current coupon codes. Happy shopping and creating!

I went through all of Ryan’s artwork years ago and put everything in a tub with files by grade. I always remember that picture because I was so shocked that he drew it. I was sort of bummed because it was on a flimsy piece of paper in pencil. Now I’ll have it in gold foil!
