It’s been a while since I’ve shared some of my pictures on my Instagram feed. For those of you who follow me on Instagram you may have already seen these pictures. I’m always surprised though how many things people don’t see, therefore I tend to overshare at times. Timing plays a big factor when it comes to social media and people automatically think you see everything they post which isn’t always the case. Many people just announce everything on Facebook and assume you know what’s going on in their lives. Here are a few things that have been going on in mine.
I traveled to Florida last month to work on scheduling updates on a home my parents will be living in. The master bathroom and kitchen are being totally remodeled. My initial vision was something like this white kitchen I found on Magnolia Homes (as in Joanna Gaines) Instagram Feed, but that totally wound up changing. Once everything is completed I hope to show some before and after pictures.
These two are best buddies. The schnauzer on the left is my dog Fritz and the other handsome fella is Charlie. My friend and I often dog sit for each other when we are traveling. These furry friends bring me joy and we are fortunate they stay out of trouble.
One of my favorite books last year was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. I read the sequel After You last month and while it wasn’t the page turner the first one was it’s still a great book. I’ve included my Amazon affiliate links if you are interested in purchasing either book.
I indulged a little too much on sweets this fall and winter and I’m paying the price now. However, I can’t imagine a life without chocolate. These Brookside Crunchy Clusters are worth every calorie. The Sam’s Club in my area sells a big bag and I’ve also seen smaller bags in Price Chopper and Target.
March 2 was Dr. Seuss Day. There is so much wisdom to be found in his books amongst all of his wit and whimsy. I stumbled across this quote of his and I believe there is much truth to these words.
That’s a little peek into some of my simple joys. I’m curious, what are some of yours? Tag me on instagram if you use the #simplejoys or #livecuriously.

One of my simple joys is to walk my yard in the morning, coffee or camera in hand. Usually temperatures need to be in the 40’s or above. I love to slow down to a toddlers pace and really enjoy any new growth.

Thanks for sharing Julie! That’s a great morning ritual. I need to do that when the weather gets warmer here.

I can’t imagine a day without chocolate either and those clusters look amazing! One of my simple pleasures is drinking hot roasted dandelion tea with raw honey. I just love it. Makes me stop and take a moment to be mindful during a crazy day and it’s delicious!

Thanks for sharing Tina. I have never had dandelion tea before. Can you purchase it at the store or do you make your own?

I “simply” toss a cup full of cardinal mix birdseed out onto a large pan on my deck every morning….and put a little scoop of seed in a small dish for the squirrels. Some would say I am encouraging the little squirrels/pests…but the peace and joy I get from watching the birds and squirrels all eat together each morning while I have my coffee and work on my computer is worth it. Tiger agrees.

Thanks for sharing Angela 🙂 Cardinals are so beautiful. I’m all for feeding the birds, but you know how I feel about squirrels 🙁 There is something very peaceful about watching birds. There a lot of bird lovers in this world.
Angela says
yes I DO! That’s why I added ‘pests’ to the post. I figured if I give them some food, they won’t eat my house! so far so good!
