Since the Fourth of July weekend is upon us I decided to share quite a bit of red, white and blue inspiration. Some of these ideas and more can also be found on my Pinterest Summer Holidays board. If you’re on Pinterest you can also follow me there for more weekly inspiration. I hope you enjoy this Americana version of live curiously weekly.
To Make: I love a snow cone and found these fun Fourth of July Spiked Snow Cones for adults.
To Eat: There are so many great festive foods, but I’m going for quick and easy when it comes to cooking. I thought these Fourth of July Rice Krispie Treats would be great for a party and there are also lots of tips on how to throw an America party.
To Inspire: It’s my birthday week which usually inspires me in some way to review my life. These 45 lessons are a great list to review every so often.
To Explore: Washington, D.C.
We took a trip to Washington D.C. two years ago and really enjoyed exploring all of the museums and monuments. This is a picture I took of the Capitol Building. I highly recommend contacting your state congressman’s office for a tour if you decide to visit Washington, D.C.
To Discuss: Less hate, more love
Given the recent events in Orlando I decided to post this picture I took of the Empire State Building.
To Watch: Independence Day 2: Resurgence
If you were a fan of the first Independence Day movie I’m pretty sure you’ll like this one. We went to see it this past weekend and enjoyed it. It’s full of action, mass destruction and aliens just like the first one. “It’s the Fourth of July and let’s show them some fireworks!”
To Reflect: Past Fourth of July Celebrations
Each year brings new changes and this year we won’t be celebrating the Fourth of July at our farmhouse with friends. We sold the home this summer, but we have a lot of great memories. This picture of my dog Fritz (on the right) and his buddy Charlie is one of my favorites. This year we will have to start new traditions.
For more Fourth of July inspiration check out this post and this fun and festive appetizer.
Have a fun and safe Fourth of July weekend!
