It’s officially summer and these are a few things I’m smiling about. We’ve been experiencing the hot summer heat for the last few weeks in Kansas and a few of these items help keep me cool, comfortable and feeling stylish. That can be difficult to do when the temperatures start approaching 100 degrees.
Olukai Flip Flops– This is my second pair of Olukai flip flops. I have them in the pewter color which goes with everything. I have a wide foot and these are comfortable and have good arch support. I like to let me feet breathe during the summer months.
Organix Surf Paste– My hair has natural wave, but several years ago the curl I had as child came back and I loved it. I’m not sure what has happened this year, but it’s not as curly even in 80% humidity. I use this surf paste when my hair is damp to help define my waves a little more.
House of Harlow Sunburst Pendant– I have gone back and forth over the last two years about purchasing a large House of Harlow Sunburst Pendant. I have a mini sunburst in black and every time I noticed my friends wearing some variation of this necklace I loved it. I have a bit of a jewelry obsession and I finally bought it in silver with a gold sunburst. I purchased it at Off Sax Fifth Avenue’s website, but it’s no longer available. However, it comes in many colors and you can also find it at Nordstrom. It easily dresses up a plain t-shirt and makes me feel more stylish with little effort involved.
S’well Santorini Water Bottle– The S’well bottles are a little pricey, but keep your water cold all day and in my opinion are more stylish than the Yeti mugs. Each bottle is hand painted and S’well donates a portion of proceeds from each bottle to UNICEF to help provide clean drinking water to children around the world.
Trader Joe’s Coconut Body Butter– I love the smell of coconut, especially during the summer months. This body butter is inexpensive yet feels luxurious on your skin. I’ve shared this before in the past with some of my other favorite items from Trader’s Joes here.
Tote for travel or the beach/pool – Tote bags are another obsession of mine. I don’t own this particular bag, but I think it’s cute and would be great for travel or the beach. I purchased this bag which I have sitting in my bedroom. I use it store a throw and some books.
What’s on your smile list this summer? Please share below and leave a comment.

Oh, when you got to the tote bag, I was in trouble. I have a tote bag problem. I am Chloe and I have a serious tote bag problem! I have been trying to break myself of this problem! I hope you are having a wonderful summer now that summer is officially here!

Love that S’well bottle! I’ve been looking into buying these, really just getting the courage to invest into a cute water bottle. I really didn’t know about the part of each and every one of them being hand painted, or how they donate money to UNICEF. Great post!

I was the same way Rebecca. I finally broke down and bought one as a mother’s day gift to myself 🙂 I drink a ton of water and it’s nice to keep in my car while running errands because it stays cold unlike plastic. It’s also better for you and the environment. The only downside is you can’t put them in the dishwasher.

I love this list… and I love summer. I WISH I had natural curl or wave of any kind in my hair, but alas, it is not to be. I’ll have to check out the flip flops – I need one with a good arch support. But my feet are tiny and skinny, so not sure they would work. Getting shoes is an ordeal for me….

Thanks Seana. I have the exact opposite problem with my feet, but I also need good arch support. I hope you are having a great summer.
